Rita’s has two famous products: Our Italian Ice and our classic, creamy frozen custard, which you can swirl, mix and combine with a variety of toppings, syrups, candies and fruits, making other delicious products like the Gelati, Blendini, Concrete, Milkshake, Misto, Frozen Drinks and more.

Our famous Italian ice is made fresh daily with real fruit and with over 78 unique flavors. Inspired from the Italian semi-frozen dessert called granita, our Italian water ice are a non-dairy frozen treat made fresh by blending ice and sweetened fruit juice together, creating a texture that’s slightly firmer than a smoothie, and way smoother than a slushy. 

Regardless, Italian Ice is special to the Philadelphia culture. 40 years later, Rita’s recipe has remained largely unchanged and delicious since the chain first opened its doors.

Rita’s is 100% an all-American brand with its roots. Almost all of our core food ingredients are imported from the ports of Philadelphia to our stores here in the Philippines. When you taste Rita’s, it’s akin to sitting in a porch in Philadelphia and enjoying a refreshing cup of Italian ice and custard on a sizzling hot day.

Rita’s Ice is a sweet, smooth frozen treat made fresh daily on location and hand-scooped to order. Unlike shaved ice, Italian Ice is made by the same process as ice cream: Freezing the ingredients while mixing them together, giving our product its unique flavor and smooth consistency.

Rita’s Philippines offer 65 of the 78 unique flavors, which are made fresh in-store every morning. To keep things fresh, each branch of store will prepare a carnival of different flavors so be sure to visit all the time to taste them all. Every Italian ice must be sold within 36 hours of mixing, so you are sure to get a fresh cup whenever you go.

Our most popular Italian ice flavors include Cherry, Strawberry, Mango, Cookies and Cream, Chocolate, Cotton Candy, Swedish Fish, Tropical Punch, and even Unicorn. For those who are more health conscious, we have sugar-free options like Sugar-Free Cherry, Sugar-Free Dragonfruit, and Sugar-free Mango Peach.

There is a world of difference. Rita’s custard have an additional ingredient---egg yolk. Egg Yolks Ice cream is made of milk, cream, and sweetener. When scooped, ice cream has more gritty ice crystal formations. Frozen custard contains all of these, plus egg yolks. This means our frozen custard is richer, thicker, and creamier than ice cream.

There is a difference in consistency and taste! Custard feels more indulgent, milkier, and richer, than regular soft-serves and ice cream in the market. 

Locally, many soft serves ice cream in the Philippine market are made out of powdered mixes and water, with very minimal milk. Unfortunately, such soft serves are full of artificial color, chemicals and flavor. Our custard is imported straight from the United States. To add texture, we add liters of rich refrigerated whipped cream and low-fat milk, all of which combine to create the perfect combination of 36% butterfat for the perfect taste and consistency.

As of May 2024, there will be four Rita’s branches in the Philippines. Our first landmark store will be at the lower ground floor of SM City Fairview, right beside the Main Mall’s food court. Our second store is at the 5th floor of SM Podium in Ortigas Center, followed by our third and fourth store at the upper ground level of SM Grand Central close to the LRT entrance, and the upper ground floor of Festival Supermall in Alabang. Our fifth store will be at the Ground Floor at SM City Santa Rosa, signaling our awareness to bring happiness beyond the city of Metro Manila.

Rita’s is open and available for opening brand new stores so long as there are good locations available. We prefer being inside the main mall, with a square meter requirement of 25 to 50 square meters of space in a good central location, with water supply, since food safety and sanitization is very important to us. We also need water to make Italian Ice daily to ensure that our customers are served the best, freshest ingredients. Sanitation is very important to us since we make Ice daily.

We plan to open at least five (5) stores per year, and open to do more so long as the locations are great. If you have a nice space to offer us for lease, please feel free to contact our Head Office as we are actively expanding, with a target of 3 more branches hopefully by the end of 2024.

We are very careful with our franchising plans because we really love our brand, and we want to ensure to get franchisees who really care about our brand, our products, and our reputation towards our customers, suppliers, landlords and partners. We have heard many horror stories about unfair practices of franchisors and misbehaving franchisees, and don’t want to end up as a statistic.

We want Rita’s to succeed, and we want to ensure that we can really take care of our franchisees before we franchise out our brand. Before Rita’s, the owners already have extensive retail operations experience with over 30 successful retail branches. So we sincerely believe that we can offer any aspiring future Rita’s franchisee applicant a wealth of experience and information not common with many other franchisors.

We are not only after making a quick buck. We are looking to make Rita’s expand so it’s as ubiquitous as another popular soft serve brand out there, who has hundreds of store nationwide. If we are to get franchisees, we want them as partners who can expand the brand in areas we’re unwilling to do so, and can take care of the brand the same way we do.

Because of this, we are very careful on who we want to partner out with. We know we are good franchisors, who take accountability and our reputations seriously.
